  • Able Seaman (AB)

    Any applicant who successfully completes this 40-hour Able Seaman course and who presents their Certificate of Training at a Regional Exam Center WITHIN ONE YEAR of completion of training will satisfy the examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.05-9 for the "Deck & Navigational General/Deck Safety" and "Deck General & Safety/Rules of the Road" exam modules for any Able Seaman endorsement AND the practical (knot-tying) examination requirement of 46 CFR 12.05-9 for an Able Seaman endorsement.

  • Able Seaman-Refresher

    This course satisfies all requirements for an Able Seaman endorsement. Any applicant successfully completing this 24-hour Able Seaman Refresher course AND presents the Certificate of Training within one year of completion of training will be able to present their Certificate of Training at a Regional Exam Center and receive any Able Seaman endorsement provided they have completed the TRL 80-hour Able Seaman course within the previous two years.

  • Advanced Refrigeration

    To provide those individuals who have successfully completed the 80-hour QMED Refrigeration Engineer course with advanced practical training in the operation, maintenance and trouble-shooting of common shipboard refrigeration equipment such as ice machines, ice cube makers, salad bars, rich-in refrigerators and heating systems

  • Immersion Suit Training

    Any student completing this 2-hour Immersion Suit Training course will satisfy the Personnel Survival Techniques training requirements of Section A-VI/I and Table A-VI/1-1 of the STCW Code and 46 CFR 10.205(1)(1) provided that they have also completed U.S. Navy Recruit Training and have acquired at least one year of sea service every five years since the completion of recruit training.

  • Military Sealift Command approved Ships Reaction Force Training

    This course is designed to provide watch standers on MSC owned and operated vessels with the necessary skills and abilities to perform the duties of the gangway watch stander, roving patrol and member of security watch.

    Security Reaction Force is 1 of a 3 part training program that includes all the competencies required by COMSC policy and USN guidelines for security watch standers afloat.

    This course has been developed by direction of MSC headquarters with inputs from a wide array of MSC trainers, Mariners Contract Mariners and trainers and Union Schools.

  • Military Sealift Command Security Watch-Advanced

  • Military Sealift Command Small Arms Training

    Small arms training ensures that personnel authorized to carry weapon(s) have the necessary information to effectively, safely and legally perform their duties. Required training includes instruction in the use of deadly force. Small arms training concerns the policies, procedures and regulations governing the carrying, utilization and safe practices relating to small arms. Additionally, the training requires the mariner to demonstrate their competence in the proper care of the weapon(s), field stripping of each weapon(s) and requires a practical demonstration of their marksmanship.

  • QMED Deck Engineer / Machinist

    Any applicant possessing a QMED F/WT/O endorsement and who successfully completes this 191.5-hour course and presents a Certificate of Training at a Regional Exam Centeer with one year of completing the course will: L Satisfy the training and examination requirements of 46 CFR, Part 12.15-9 for the General Safety, QMED Machinist and Deck Engineer examination modules.

  • QMED Electrician

    Any applicant whose merchant mariner’s document is endorsed as QMED Oiler and /or Fireman/Watertender and successfully completed this 120-hour QMED-Electrician course will satisfy the requirements of 46 CFR 12.15-9 for the Electrician examination modules, if presented WITHIN ONE YEAR of the completion of training. This course has not been evaluated to determine if it will satisfy any training or assessment requirements of the STCW Convention and STCW Code.

  • QMED F/WT/O

    Any applicant successfully completing this 159-hour Qualified Member of the Engineering Department (QMED) Fireman/Watertender and Oiler Course will: (1) Satisfy the requirements of 46 CFR 12.15-7(b)(2) and receive credit for one half of the sea service needed for a QMED Oiler and Fireman/Watertender endorsement PROVIDED they also present evidence of at least 90 days of sea service; --AND—(2) if presented WITHIN ONE YEAR of the completion of training, satisfy the requirements of 46 CFR 12.15-9 for the General Safety, Fireman/Watertender, and Oiler examination modules; --AND—(3) S

  • QMED Junior Engineer

    Any mariner that successfully completes this 280-hour QMED Junior Engineer/Pumpman course will satisfy the:
    a. requirements of 46 CFR 12.15-9 for the General Safety (80XXX), Junior Engineer (81XXX) and Pumpman (88XXX) examination modules, if presented within one year of training AND
    b. training requirements for 46 CFR 13.403(a)(2) and I3, 409 for an endorsement as Tankerman - Assistant DL, AND

  • QMED Refrigeration

    Any applicant who successfully completes this 80-hour QMED-Refrigerating Engineer course will satisfy the requirements of 46 CFR 12.15-9 for the General Safety and Refrigerating Engineer examination modules, if presented WITHIN ONE YEAR of the completion of training.
